Dear Expectant Parents,
Proverbs 22 verse 6 says, “Train up a child in the way he should go; even when he is old he will not depart from it.” Sometimes we as humans can learn not only from what is written in scripture, but also what is not written in scripture. This verse in Proverbs says “Train up a child…” not “Train up YOUR child…” The scriptures have commanded Christians to care for those in need and adoption is one thing that we are called to do when there is a need.
We, Russ and Elizabeth, would like to thank you for taking your time to learn about us. Please know we are praying for you and your baby. We both know how much you love your child and want what is best for them. This is the most selfless gift you could ever give your child and although we are not in your shoes we admire you so very much.
We have been married since 2008. Jesus Christ is the foundation of our marriage and we desire to honor him in all we do. We are members at a wonderful Bible-preaching church where Russ is an usher and Elizabeth works in the nursery. Together we are part of a small group.
We were blessed with our daughter Libby by adoption. She is an incredible joy! When we do adopt again, from day one they will know that they were adopted and we will tell them of the unconditional love you have for them. Adoption is a precious gift and whomever we are blessed with we will love them like they are our flesh and blood.
Russ works as a Mechanical Engineer but also loves being outdoors and hunting. Elizabeth is a stay-at-home mom and loves every minute with Libby. We both love playing and reading with Libby. Libby loves to read so we do that a lot. She is filled with joy, energy, and laughter. We laugh all the time and have fun. We also like playing games, going out to eat, hiking, riding bikes, watching movies, and the list could go on. Our dog Nahla has been wonderful to have as part of our family as well. As you can see from our pictures we love spending time with our family, including our 17 (and still growing) nieces and nephews, most of whom live near our home and even a few next door. Family dinners, parties, and holidays are filled with love, laughter and lots of good food.
I, Elizabeth, have always had the heart’s desire to be a mother. I am truly grateful for the Lord blessing us by adoption. I knew when I was a teenager that I wouldn’t be able to have biological children. We live in the suburbs in a single story ranch with a huge yard, near an excellent school.
We want to thank you again for learning about us and reading our letter. We are praying that God’s peace will be upon your heart and that you would feel his loving arms around you and your child so that you may know he holds both of you close as you make this difficult decision.
